Every so often, New Jersey high school athletes make headlines for their remarkable feats.

What Old Tappan’s Abigail Dennis did last week ended up going way beyond that.

In the 100 meter hurdle heat at the Bergen County Championships, she fell hard after tripping over a hurdle and essentially began the race in last place. But Dennis wouldn’t accept that – she rallied to come from behind and win the heat in a moment that truly went viral across the world.

Just days after, that video of her remarkable feat was seen over a million times on Old Tappan’s track and field Twitter account and got countless more views on various news and social media channels across the world.
