Last season, Donovan Catholic captured both the Non-Public A and Tournament of Champions title. Morris Catholic won the Non-Public B state championship.

The two powerhouse programs clashed on Saturday and it was as one-sided a game there could be.

The Griffins (4-0) captured a 10-0 win over the Crusaders (2-2) in six innings thanks to a near perfect pitching performance and electric hitting. Julia Apostolakos pitched six shutout innings and struck out 12 batters while only allowing one hit. She also went 4-4 at the dish with 2 RBI. Alyssa Apruzzi was 3-4 with 3 RBI while Ashley Federico was 2-3 and hit a monster, two-run home run.
