Don Bosco Prep 2 Delbarton 1
Mickey Burns shorthanded goal in the third period proved to be the game-winner as the Ironmen sweep the Green Wave in a Sunday night showdown of NJ’s top two ranked hockey teams. Liam McClinskey delivered a goal in the first period to put Don Bosco in front. Both teams had numerous opportunities on the power play with both teams receiving a two-man advantage, but the score remained 1-0 through two periods. In the third, Tyler Sedlak intercepted a pass in the Delbarton zone and was able to find Burns who stepped up with a shorthanded goal. James Falivene’s backhand got Delbarton on the board, but the Green Wave couldn’t mount a serious threat in the final 4:30.
