Delbarton’s wrestling program has turned a corner in the 2022-23 season and the Green Wave sit atop the food chain when it comes to elite wrestling programs in the Garden State. The No. 1 team in New Jersey flexed their muscles on Wednesday night when they defeated reigning Group 4 state champions Mount Olive (4-3) 58-12. Delbarton (6-2) racked up seven pins in the win, but the biggest news was the return of reigning 157-pound state champion Simon Ruiz to the lineup. Ruiz missed the last eight weeks after a meniscus injury and logged a major decision win at 175 pounds in his first match of the season.
