St. Augustine 13 Mainland 2 (5 Innings)
The defending Non-Public “A” state champion Hermits blew things open with an eight-run fourth inning and rolled past the Mustangs in the first of two meetings to open the season. Joe Peacock led the way with a home run and four RBIs in the victory. La Salle commit Marco Christopher hit a two-run home run in the second inning, while Will Childs had 3 RBIs during the big fourth inning for St. Augustine (1-0). Chase Camac drove in a run in the loss for Mainland (0-1). Round two between these divisional foes will be tomorrow at 4pm in Richland.
