It’s been just over two years since the tragic death of Cy Menard, but the impacts he left on everyone continue to live on.

Led by his older brother, Kesnel Menard, the second annual Cy 99 Camp at St. Joe’s Mont. over the weekend blended football drills with real life education.

Cy graduated from St. Joe’s and had accepted a scholarship offer to play college football at Sacred Heart University. However, he passed away in early May of 2022 in a fatal car accident on Route 17 in Bergen County. He was not wearing a seatbelt. The message relayed at the camp was straightforward – don’t put yourself unnecessarily in harm’s way.
A handful of college football recruiters were on hand Saturday as campers were put through NFL Combine-style drills by current and past NFL veterans in hopes of kickstarting college interest for the next group of high school football stars in New Jersey.
