Watch highlights and post-game reaction as CBA comes back from 3-0 down for a 4-3 overtime win over top seed to win the Non-Public hockey state championship

NEWARK – Freshman Dean DiFazio deflected a Chris Hayes shot 3:48 into overtime to give CBA four straight goals and a 4-3 win over Delbarton in the Non-Public hockey state championship at the Prudential Center.  The top seeded Green Wave scored three straight goals in the second period and looked to be in control, but CBA clawed back with goals by Greg Malafronte and Anthony Cucich to cut the deficit to 3-2 after two periods.  With just under three minutes to go in the game, Derek Contessa poked home a rebound to force overtime.

Last year, CBA played a scoreless fifteen minutes of extra time and had to settle for a co-state championship with Morristown-Beard.  The Colts wouldn’t repeat that scenario as Hayes shot navigated through traffic and off the glove of DiFazio and a Colts state title.  Watch the highlights and post-game reaction here:
