Colts Neck 5 Marlboro 2 | Shore Conference Tournament Semifinal
Angela Sasso hit a two run homer in the first inning and went on to pitch a complete game 3-hitter with five strikeouts to give the Cougars a spot in the Shore Conference championship game. Gabby Bryce hit a solo homer to lead off the third to put Colts Neck in front 3-1. After Marlboro’s Aimee Notaro cut the lead to 3-2 with an RBI single in the top of the 6th, freshman Jillian Heyser gave the Cougars a huge two-run double. Colts Neck beat Ocean County champ Jackson Memorial in the opening round follwowed by an uspet of #4 seed Middletown North in the quarterfinals. The Cougars will face the winner of RBC and St. John Vianney on Monday in the championship.
