Alex Laferriere heard his named called by the Los Angeles Kings in the third round of the 2020 NHL Draft. Check out JSZ’s highlights from his days at Chatham High School!


The New York Rangers selected Alexis Lafreniere with the #1 overall pick in the NHL Draft. One day later, Alex Laferriere was the 3rd round selection by the Los Angeles Kings at #83 overall. Laferriere played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Chatham High School before joining the Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL where he scored 19 goals and 26 assists last year in 42 games. Laferriere scored 11 goals and 13 assists in 2017-18 for Chatham, helping them reach the Public “C” state finals. Laferriere is slated to play one more season in Des Moines before playing college hockey at Harvard.
