CBA, Don Bosco Prep reach Gordon Cup Finals

Don Bosco Prep is the defending champion, CBA is the number one ranked team in New Jersey. Both teams made their mark in the Gordon Cup semifinals on Tuesday to reach the title game. Watch the highlights of both games now!


Don Bosco 2 Delbarton 1 (OT/Shootout)

There’s always fireworks when two of the best teams in New Jersey meet on the ice. The Ironmen and Green Wave skated to a 1-1 tie through regulation and overtime, thus setting the stage for a shootout with a spot in the Gordon Cup final on the line. Don Bosco goaltender Ethan Marich made four saves and freshman Matt Shpungin buried the “game-winner” in four shootout rounds for a 3-0 win over Delbarton.

CBA 10 Bergen Catholic 2

The Colts scored a pair of power-play goals in the span of :11 seconds to open the game and kept on scoring to remain unbeaten on the year at 22-0-3. Evan Brown scored on a 2-man advantage with Zach Wagnon answered immediately after to make it 2-0 just three minutes into the game. Wagnon went on to score just over a minute later and Patrick Reilly scored with :01 second left in the first to make it a 4-0 lead for the Colts through one. CBA added four more goals in the second and two more in the third to reach 22-0-3 on the season. Brown, Wagnon and Reilly all scored two goals apiece with Wagnon and Reilly finishing with five points. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from Jersey Shore Arena:
