Former Bergen Catholic first baseman Carsten Sabathia III is carving his own path in professional baseball.  We talked with Carsten in Trenton as he plays every day in front of scouts in the MLB Draft League for the Trenton Thunder

The last time we saw Carsten Sabathia – he was raking at Bergen Catholic in 2021 hitting .344 for the Crusaders.  Following two years at Georgia Tech and this past season at the University of Houston – the son of soon to be Hall of Famer CC Sabathia looks right at home in a pro ballpark playing in the MLB Draft League for the Trenton Thunder.  Sabathia is carving his own path in baseball, not on the mound like his Dad but as a power hitting first baseman – bringing great intangibles to his resume leading up to the 2025 MLB Draft growing up around the game and using it to build a tremendous baseball IQ.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the story on Sabathia hoping to hear his name called in mid-July and the special moment for his Dad in Cooperstown at the end of the month.
