Monmouth 17 Ocean 8

Marlboro’s Cameron Caorsi was one of the Shore Conference’s workhorses in the backfield during his senior campaign and he showed it one more time as he galloped for 168 yards and a touchdown in Monmouth’s 17-8 win over Ocean at Shore Regional.  Caorsi carried the ball 25 times and credited the Monmouth offensive line for his outstanding effort.  Monmouth opened the scoring with a Paul Reed 5 yard TD catch from Saint John Vianney’s Matt DeGennaro and added a field goal from Freehold Township’s Tyler Schulman to take a 10-0 lead.  Monmouth nearly had a 17-0 lead, but Freehold Boro’s Ahlonte Hair was marked out of bounds at the two yard line after falling into the end zone and Lacey’s Chase Stephensen came up with a fumble recovery in the closing seconds of the first half at the two yard line.  Caorsi scored from three yards out to make it a 17-0 game.  Ocean was able to get on the board in the fourth quarter thanks to Anthony Costanza’s 12 yard TD pass to Point Pleasant Boro’s Hayden Frey and a two point conversion pass to Central Regional’s Mike Bickford.  Watch the highlights and interviews with four MVP’s:
