Bob Auriemma is the patriarch of New Jersey high school hockey and is still closely connected to the game thanks to his great-grandchildren on the ice for Brick. Watch JSZ’s feature on a true legend and the impact he still has on the game

For 54 years and over 1,000 games, Bob Auriemma was behind the bench at the Ocean Ice Palace for the Brick Township hockey team. With 729 wins, eight Gordon Cup titles and six state championships, he will forever be the patriarch of New Jersey high school hockey. Following his retirement in 2017, Auriemma still finds himself a fixture at the rink as he watches his two great-grandsons play for the co-op of Brick Township and Brick Memorial. Jake and Kevin Toye have been key contributors to a Brick team that is currently 7-5-2 and enjoying a return to the Ocean Ice Palace after four years away. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has this story on one of New Jersey’s great hockey families:

Jersey Sports Zone thanks OceanFirst Bank for supporting Brick Township and Brick Memorial and allowing us to tell great stories!
