Growing pains are a given with any team, and that goes for Blair Academy’s girls hoops squad, too. The Bucs were stunned in the Prep A semifinals two years ago and then fell in the title game last February.
Blair persevered and rebounded this season to hoist the Prep A Championship trophy after defeating Hun School, 76-52, in the final Wednesday evening.
Junior Helena Friend scored a game-high and season-best 26 points in the victory, while Olivia Miles — the No. 2 ranked 2021 player in the country — dazzled again with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists.
