One of the toughest high school football conferences has produced yet another Division I quarterback, and this time the destination is our nation’s capital.

Rising senior Dorian Nowell announced Saturday evening he had committed to Georgetown University.

Nowell, now enrolled at St. Joe’s (Mont.), was the starting quarterback at Paramus Catholic during his sophomore and junior seasons. With the Paladins, he collected 16 touchdowns to only five interceptions for 2,484 yards and went 6-15 over the past two seasons.

Nowell did not play in Paramus Catholic’s final two games last season and it was announced in January he had transferred to St. Joe’s. The rising senior is expected to be in the mix for the starting quarterback job with the Green Knights this season as senior Michael Alaimo is graduating and committed to play at Purdue University.

Nowell will now head into the 2020 season as the only quarterback from a Big Six program (St. Joe’s, Bergen Catholic, St. Peter’s Prep, Paramus Catholic, Don Bosco Prep, DePaul) committed to a D-I program so far.
