Trey Tagliaferri emerged as a four star prospect in the class of 2028 after a sensational sophomore season at Bergen Catholic. His early recruiting cycle was a roller coaster ride.  Check out the story of Trey’s switch from Notre Dame to the Oklahoma Sooners

Bergen Catholic quarterback Trey Tagliaferri has had a whirlwind week spending six days as a Notre Dame commit before flipping his pledge to the Oklahoma Sooners.  Two days after decommitting from the Irish, one of the top QB’s in the class of 2028 has landed in Norman to play for coach Brent Venables in two years.   Tagliaferri appeared to continue the New Jersey to South Bend pipeline when he committed to Notre Dame but just six days after that announcement, Tagliaferri told Hayes Fawcett of Rivals that he has decommitted from the Fighting Irish.   The class of 2028 4-star prospect was an early commit and had 34 offers including Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, and Penn State.

Tagliaferri made an immediate impact in his varsity debut for head coach Vito Campanile completing 132 of 212 passes for 2,238 yards with 29 touchdown passes and just three interceptions.

Tagliaferri was a 2025 JSZ All-Zone selection.  Check out some of his highlights which showcased his precision passing during the Crusaders 8-3 season:
