Rich Chrampanis left the Jersey Shore in 1995, when after two years at WCBS-TV producing sportscasts for Steve Levy and Bruce Beck, he embarked on his career as a television sportscaster.  Starting in Ottumwa, Iowa and working his way to Bangor, Maine and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, it was an eye opening experience for a lifelong sports fan who grew up never seeing high school and small college sports on local television.

For 20 years, Chrampanis brought extensive coverage of high school and local sports across the country.  After 14 years at WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach, he has decided to return back home and give the Jersey Shore extensive high school sports coverage with the creation of Shore Sports Zone.

Shore Sports Zone will be much more than a website to get scores and stats.  Video highlights of high school games in every sport along with feature stories and long form specials will be a regular part of Shore Sports Zone’s content.

Steve Levy and Bruce Beck are two of the biggest influences on my career.  If you want to watch national sports, do what I do and watch Steve on SportsCenter.  For the New York sports scene, there’s no better than “Bubba” at Channel 4.  We’re going to give the local athletes on the Jersey Shore their own media voice.  I can’t wait to share the stories of our local athletes and give you highlights of games throughout the high school sports season.  – Rich Chrampanis, Shore Sports Zone Founder

Shore Sports Zone’s content will always be free.  Please support the ads you see on this site as they are the community leaders with the vision to bring local sports coverage to you through Shore Sports Zone.
