Point Pleasant Boro scored a thrilling 24-21 win over Rumson-Fair Haven to advance to the Central Jersey Group 2 championship. Senior Jack Sullivan’s 35-yard field goal as time expired was the storybook ending for a Panthers team that saw its season end the previous two years in Rumson to the Bulldogs. Sullivan thought his high school career came to an end in late September following a heart condition that hospitalized him for three days and forced him to miss six weeks of action. Cleared the day before the biggest game of the season, Sullivan made the most of his second chance to play the game he loves.
