The start of conference tournament play gives us PK drama in the Somerset County girls tournament plus a regular season golden goal from the St. Augustine Hermits.  Watch four great games around the state!

Immaculata 1 Gill St. Bernard’s 1 (Immaculata Wins 4-3 in PK’s) | Girls | Somerset County Tournament Quarterfinal

No. 6 Immaculata girls soccer completed an improbable comeback in Tuesday’s Somerset County Tournament quarterfinals, picking up a 1-1 (4-3) penalty kick win over No. 20 Gill St. Bernard’s. The Knights’ Emma Hyland scored on a free kick in the 38th minute, and the game remained scoreless until there were triple-zeroes in the 2nd half as Immaculata’s Sabrina Karoly knocked in a buzzer-beating goal to send the game to overtime. 20 minutes were not enough, and the game went to penalties and, leading 4-3 in the 5th round, Spartans freshman goalie Cat Brown saved a Margo Higgins shot to win the game.

The Spartans now face No. 7 Rutgers Prep in the SCT semifinals on Saturday.
