Sectional titles are up for grabs on Friday, and JSZ has coverage from some fantastic games!

Brick Memorial 7 Northern Burlington 0 | Central Jersey Group 3 Final

For the first time in program history, the Mustangs have captured a sectional championship. Trevor Kish launched a home run over the left-center field fence in the top of the third inning, igniting a five-run rally for the Ocean County champions. West Chester commit Brody Moore was dominant against one of the state’s top offenses, allowing just two hits and striking out nine in a complete-game shutout. Brick Memorial (24-7) avenged last season’s sectional final loss to Northern Burlington (24-4) and will host Delsea in the Group 3 state semifinal, with a trip to Rutgers on the line.

Cranford 10 South Plainfield 5 | North Jersey Section 2, Group 3 Final

Cranford captured its 16th sectional championship with a 10-5 win over defending champion South Plainfield in the North 2 Group 3 final. Brayden Fry powered the Cougars with a monster day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a three-run home run, a ground-rule double, four RBIs, three runs scored, two stolen bases, and a hit by pitch. Patrick Bendert added a two-run homer in the fifth after South Plainfield cut the deficit to one, helping Cranford answer every Tigers push. South Plainfield’s Aiden McCarthy, Andrew Bena, and Dom Massaro all delivered big swings, but Cranford’s lineup proved too much as the Cougars advanced to Monday’s Group 3 semifinal against Old Tappan.
