St. Augustine Prep 13 DePaul Catholic 7

No. 8 St. Augustine baseball picked up their biggest win of the season on Monday with an emphatic 13-7 win over No. 3 DePaul, snapping the Spartans’ 10-game win streak. After being down 3-1 in the 2nd inning, DePaul roared back with six unanswered runs to eventually lead 7-3 through five complete innings. Then, lightning struck as the Hermits put together a two-out rally in the top of the 6th, scoring five runs off a Hank Biglin RBI triple, an Ethan Suppi RBI single, and Suppi coming home on a Jason Amalbert wild pitch. They followed up with five more runs in the top of the 7th, all coming with two outs as well. St. Augustine was led on the bats by Biglin who went 3-5 with five RBIs. He was followed by DJ Lloyd who went 2-4 with three RBIs and MLB prospect Alex Weingartner with a 3-3 day with four runs and four stolen bases.
