We head to Wayne for some flag football action to start out the week! Paterson Eastside is looking to move to 2-0 and defeat No. 20 DePaul. Check out the action below!

Paterson Eastside 19 DePaul Catholic 6

Paterson Eastside believed they should have been ranked in the state’s Top 20 flag football teams and, after Monday, they certainly have a case. The Ghosts went on the road and defeated No. 20 DePaul 19-6 and move to 2-0 on the year.

Eastside took a 6-0 in the first quarter off of a Emely Jimenez Abreu 3-yard touchdown reception. It would remain 6-0 until the third quarter when Jimenez Abreu scored on a 10-yard rush, followed by a Khori Muckle one-point conversion. Aubrey Newell added her second touchdown pass of the game in the fourth when she found Genesis Santana for a 35-yard touchdown. With 7:00 left, after a 65-yard run by Jaelynn Perez, DePaul’s Kathya Franco scored a walk-in touchdown to make it 19-6.
