Manasquan 53 Caldwell 36 | Girls | Group 2 State Final
The Warrior Dynasty is alive and well as No. 7 Manasquan girls basketball defeated No. 11 Caldwell 53-36 on Saturday to win their third straight Group 2 title and their fourth in five years.
After being down 5-2 in the first quarter, Manasquan went on an 18-0 into the second quarter led by senior Shannon Looney who scored the first 8 points of the game and 13 of their first 17. After leading 30-10 at the half, the Warriors added to their lead in the third to create what became an uncatchable 45-20 lead into the final frame.
Looney and sophomore Calista Vowteras each led the Warriors with 19 points. Senior Jordyn Hollawell also added 7 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds. Caldwell’s high scorers were senior Tea Fiore with 14 and junior Addison Keenan with 13.

Ramsey 68 Rumson-Fair Haven 57 | Boys | Group 2 State Final
Ramsey boys basketball defeated No. 16 Rumson-Fair Haven 68-57 in Saturday’s Group 2 state final to win their first state title since 1950! The story of the night was the way the Rams played in the second quarter. Entering the quarter tied at 12 with the Bulldogs, Ramsey outscored them 26-8 before the halftime break. With RFH outscoring the Rams in the second half, it made that performance even more important to what was a cathartic final result for the program.
The Rams were led by guards Owen Farley and Charlie Taylor, each with 19 points. RFH’s high scorer was senior Luke Cruz who had a 22 point, 11 rebound double-double.
