Jefferson Township in northern Morris County is one of those towns that is driven by high school sports, backing their teams unlike many in the area. However, a $4.8 million shortfall within the Jefferson Township School District may put Falcon Country in danger of doing the unthinkable: cutting all sports.
Now, the town is in the midst of a fight of a lifetime, calling for state officials to provide them with the aid they say is necessary to keep things afloat before this fall’s potential sports blackout.
