The road to the Prudential Center continued on Thursday as JSZ brings you a pair of playoff matchups from the ice. St. Augustine and Morristown-Beard go to battle for a spot in the Non-Public state semifinals. Plus, Middletown North takes on Scotch Plains-Fanwood in a sectional quarterfinal. St. Augustine 5 Morristown-Beard 2 | Non-Public State Quarterfinal

The fourth-seeded Hermits netted two goals in just over 30 seconds to put a stop to a third period rally from the Crimson to reach the Non-Public state semifinals. Carmine Laspata led the way with two goals and an assist in the victory. CJ Mistichelli chipped in with a goal and three assists, while Cam DeLeo had an assist for St. Augustine (12-8). Evan Redman and Marcus Cassidy scored in the loss for fifth-seeded Morristown-Beard (18-3-1). St. Augustine advances to face top-seeded Delbarton next Wednesday.

Middletown North 7 Scotch Plains-Fanwood 3 | South, Public Quarterfinal

Caden Kirk had two second period goals and Greg Bonczek added a pair in the third as the Lions scored six straight goals after falling behind 2-1 at the end of the first period to move on to to South Public semifinals.  Nick Movsesian scored his 31st and Charles Sacchetti notched his 37th as Scotch Plains-Fanwood finished the season 21-3-1.  Middletown North (14-6-2) will face the winner of Rumson-Fair Haven and defending state champion Westfield on Monday.
