Ice is normally the last thing we would want think about after this weekend’s storm, but the exception is for some state playoff hockey action! On Tuesday, No. 8 seed Seton Hall Prep played host to No. 9 Princeton Day in the first round of the Non-Public tournament. Check out the action below!

Princeton Day 5 Seton Hall Prep 2 | Boys | Non-Public 1st Round

Less than a week after dropping their regular season finale to the Pirates, No. 9 seed Princeton Day boys hockey defeated No. 8 seed Seton Hall Prep 5-2 in Tuesday’s Non-Public first round matchup. The Panthers led 1-0 after one period off of a goal from James Winkler, only his second on the year.

The second period featured two goals from each team, all within the last 3:00 of the period. Both of the Panthers’ goals came from Fred Ringblom, while Dylan Mesler (PPG) and Connor Jewell scored for the Pirates. The 3-2 PDS lead went unchanged in the 3rd until a coast-t0-coast EJ Wiston goal with 2:33 left in regulation. Ringblom then got his third goal in the game off of an empty net.

Princeton Day (5-15) will next play at No. 1 seed Delbarton in Thursday’s Non-Public quarterfinals.
