It’s a gigantic girls hockey matchup as cup finals week continues: No. 1 Morristown-Beard vs. No. 2 Princeton Day in the Librera Cup final! The Crimson defeated the Panthers both times they faced this year, but can the 2x defending Librera champs flip the script?
Morristown-Beard 3 Princeton Day 1 | Librera Cup Final
No. 1 Morristown-Beard remained undefeated against No. 2 Princeton Day in ’25-’26 on Thursday, defeating the Panthers 3-1 in the Librera Cup final to capture their second Cup title and prevent a PDS three-peat.
The two squads looked like they were going into the 2nd period knotted at 0, but MoBeard freshman Mekhi Fitzgerald went bar down with 0.7 seconds left to put the Crimson up 1-0. The Crimson added on two goals in the 2nd period: an even strength goal by Reid Snyder and a power play goal by Sylie Sawale. Layla Klapak scored the lone goal for PDS in the final minute of the 3rd.
As the Crimson offense put 35 shots on net, their goaltender Hannah Mortazavi faced only 12.
