It’s a matchup on the ice that is always a treat to see, especially this season. For the fourth time, it’s Don Bosco Prep vs. St. Joe’s (Mont.)! This time, a spot in the Gordon Cup final is on the line. To say that the Ironmen came to play on Wednesday is certainly an understatement! Check out the action below.

Don Bosco Prep 5 St. Joe’s-Montvale 1 | Gordon Cup Semifinal

No. 2 Don Bosco hockey left no doubt on Wednesday night as they defeated No. 3 St. Joe’s (Mont.) 5-1 in the Gordon Cup semifinals. The Ironmen started as strong as a team can against an opponent like the Green Knights with a 4-0 first period. Goals were scored by Aaron Bielen, Ryan Murphy (shorthanded), Niko Pappachristou, and Preston Ferro.

Bosco made it a 5-0 game just over a minute into the 2nd period with a goal from Jack Ashton, marking their 5th different goalscorer. In the same period, St. Joe’s’ Jason Juneau netted the Knights’ first and only goal on the night. Don Bosco goaltender Alex Annunizato saved 28 shots, while Gabe Florio had 20 saves for St. Joe’s.

The Ironmen now await the winner of Thursday’s Delbarton/St. Augustine semifinal in next Wednesday night’s Gordon Cup final at the Codey Arena.
