Girls hockey grabs the spotlight on a busy Wednesday on the ice in the Garden State. Top-ranked Morristown-Beard tangles with third-ranked Immaculate Heart Academy. Then we head outdoors for a battle between Trinity Hall and Cranford under the lights at the Navesink Country Club in Red Bank. On paper, it was going to be a good one…and we got one! NJ No. 3 Immaculate Heart girls hockey picked up a massive home win on Wednesday, handing newly-crowned No. 1 Morristown-Beard their first loss, 2-1 in overtime. Freshman Taylor Ahrens had the game-winner and sophomore Maddie Graves had 31 saves in net!

The top-ranked Green Wave flipped the switch with a three-goal surge in the second period, and Paul Insauto picked up his fourth shutout of the season to get past the fifth-ranked Hermits. Insauto racked up 16 saves in the victory. Aidan Pasic led for a goal and an assist, while Egor Andreev, Sean O’Gwen, and Jacob Gomez added goals for Delbarton. K.J. Williams finished with 21 saves in net for St. Augustine (6-6).
