Don Bosco Prep 2 St. Joe’s-Montvale 1 (OT)
Round 2 of No. 2 St. Joe’s (Mont.) vs. No. 3 Don Bosco Prep in boys hockey action more than lived up to the hype as the Ironmen picked up the thrilling win 2-1 in overtime with Niko Pappachristou playing the hero in the extra frame! Alex Annunziato also had 37 saves in net.

Justin Madison had 28 saves in net scoring his second shutout of the season, both coming against the Red Devils to lead the Panthers (11-2-1) to a Friday afternoon victory at the Rock Ice Arena. Stanley Xenakis got the scoring started with Niklas Dorey and Easton Schrage scoring in the second period for B-R. Ridge (7-7-1) got 39 saves in goal by Matt DeMaio.

Brick 4 Southern Regional 2
Gavin Majors got things started quickly by scoring just ten seconds into regulation as he finished with a pair of goals to power Brick to a third-straight victory. Brody Acropolis and Connor Kelly added goals to help Brick clinch the Shore Conference South Division title. Liam Frederickson tied the game at the end of the first, while Santino Vilardi scored a late goal in the loss for Southern (6-8-2).

Trace Wozniak was a force to be reckoned with, scoring four goals and bringing his season total to 22 in just eight games. Tied at 4 heading into the third period, Trace and Brody Wozniak each added a goal within two minutes of each other, giving a surging Freehold Township-Point Boro (9-3) their sixth straight win. The Patriots won only eight games last season, and with the victory over Princeton (6-6-1), they have already surpassed last year’s win total-with seven regular-season games still to play.
