It’s a big weekend of high school football with state championship spots on the line. In Toms River, Toms River North and Wall’s Unified football teams had a big game of their own. Toms River North’s three year reign as NJ Group 5 state champions will officially come to a close next week after the Mariners were eliminted in the state quarterfinals. TRN’s players showed that they are champions beyond the gridiron. A number of Mariners varsity football players were there to lend their support to TRN’s Unified football team who played a game against Wall at RWJ Barnabas Health’s Field of Dreams. Both teams got their chance to showcase their hardwork in front of a great crowd that included a large contingent of Toms River North student-athletes including cheerleaders.
