St. Benedict’s 4 Pingry 3 | Boys | Non-Public “A” State Final

Amadou Hann played another massive role for the Gray Bees on Sunday afternoon to help his squad win their second-straight state championship. Hann broke a 3-3 tie in the 60th minute with a goal that proved be the eventual game-winner. Hann, Godwin Anim, Nathaniel Addo and Richmond Laribah all scored for St. Benedict’s (19-0) in the win. Pingry (18-3) saw their season come to an end at the hands for St. Benedict’s for the second year in a row. Pingry lost 1-0 in last year’s state final and lost 4-3 earlier this season to St. Benedict’s. Julian Lopez led the way offensively with a pair of goals in the losing effort.

Paul VI 1 Immaculate Heart Academy 0 | Girls | Non-Public “A” State Final

The Eagles and the Blue Eagles were locked in a tight battle all afternoon in a rematch of last year’s Non-Public “A” state final. Eleanor Lawyer delivered a near-perfect shot for the lead in the 72nd minute to lift the Eagles to their second-straight Non-Public “A” state title and complete the program’s first undefeated season. Chloe Krupa earned a clean sheet with three saves in net for defending champion Paul VI (24-0). Hofstra commit Jaylene Rondon had five saves in the loss for Immaculate Heart Academy (17-5-1).

Montclair Kimberley Academy 5 Ranney 0 | Boys | Non-Public “B” State Final

Montclair Kimberley dominated from start to finish to win the Non-Public B state championship for the first time since 2012. CJ Dike scored twice in the first half, while Nick Carrascosa added a second-half brace and Gus Rosen chipped in another as the Cougars rolled to a 5–0 win over Ranney. MKA controlled possession throughout and allowed few chances on a windy afternoon in Franklin. The Cougars finish the season 16-5-1, completing a postseason run that included a sectional title win over seven-time defending champion Gill St. Bernard’s. Ranney closes out the year at 14-7-1.
