Cranford 2 Summit 1 | Girls | North 2 Group 3 Quarterfinals

Cranford pulled off one of the wildest wins of the state tournament on Friday afternoon. Summit (6-12-1) struck first with a long-range goal to take a 1–0 lead, and the Hilltoppers looked ready to advance until the Cougars came alive late. Ava Cao headed in the equalizer in the 77th minute to force overtime, setting up a thriller. Then, with just 13 seconds left in double OT, Isabella Reibarkh buried the game-winner to complete the comeback and send Cranford (14-3-1) to the North 2, Group 3 semifinals, where they’ll host Middletown South on Wednesday.

Emerson Boro 7 New Milford 1 | Boys | North 1 Group 1 Quarterfinal

The Cavos got a well balanced effort Saturday morning as seven different players contributed to the offense in a one-sided win over the Knights. Top-seeded Emerson Boro (13-9-1) got a goal in the waning seconds of the first half and that momentum rolled over into the second half where they scored five unanswered to lock up the win. The Cavos host North Warren in the N1G1 semifinals on Tuesday.
