On back to back days, coach Bryan Stoll saw two of his state champions commit to Division I programs. Cameron Sontz and Ryan DeGeorge are both going to be fixtures in the Green Wave lineup over the next two years.
Sontz Commits to Lehigh
Cameron Sontz started his high school career with a 106 pound state championship in his freshman year followed by a 113 pound title as a sophomore. He is the #7 ranked wrestler nationally in the class of 2027 by Flo Wrestling. Sontz was a perfect 39-0 last season and has an overall record of 78-4 as he’s halfway to joining the exclusive list of four time NJ state champs.
DeGeorge Commits to Rutgers
Ryan DeGeorge will stay in-state and join Scott Goodale’s program with the Scarlet Knights. The junior won the 2024 NJ state wrestling title as a freshman at 126 pounds and was the runner-up in his sophomore year at 132 losing to Camden Catholic’s Sammy Spaulding 9-6 in overtime. DeGeorge is currently ranked #11 in the nation at 144 pounds heading into his junior season at Delbarton.
