An inpsirational story out of Bayville. Meet the Frulio family and the Central Regional senior who has shown remarkable bravery and resilience in his fight with brain cancer
Dayton Frulio was diagnosed with autism and was set to play varsity football and baseball at Central Regional in his senior year. In August, migraine headaches resulted in a trip to the emergency room at Community Medical Center and a transfer to RWJ University Hospital in New Brunswick. A brain tumor was discovered and the battle against cancer began. Dayton underwent two surgeries in the span of seven weeks. Remarkably, just eight days after his second surgery on October 1st, Dayton was on the sidelines cheering on his younger sister Addison, who’s the starting goalie for the 11-0-1 Golden Eagles girls soccer team.
The Frulio family is Central Regional through and through. Mom and Dad are teachers at the school and Addison’s twin sister Alex is a gymnast who all are parts of the Golden Eagles community. Dayton’s incredible positive attitiude and resilience are on full display as he interacts with friends, teachers and family before he is set to begin radiation and chemotherapy treatment as the fight resumes against brain cancer.
