The final day of September provided some great matchups in high school soccer across the Garden State. In boys soccer, St. Thomas Aquinas and undefeated Wardlaw-Hartridge collide in GMC Tournament pool play, while Toms River South and Toms River East write the latest chapter of their crosstown rivalry. Plus, the Princeton Day girls look to stay perfect against Hamilton West. Check back as the highlights are posted throughout the night!


St. Thomas Aquinas 2 Wardlaw-Hartridge 1 | Boys | GMC Tournament Group C Pool Play

If Tuesday was any indication, the upcoming GMC Tournament will be filled with twists and turns. The Trojans aced a big test in Group C pool play action with their takedown of the previously undefeated Rams. St. Thomas Aquinas (7-4) pulled out the win thanks to a second half strike from Emmanuel Akobokoba in the 52nd minute. Luca Malovini scored in the first half for STA to draw even before the break. Wardlaw-Hartridge (7-1) was powered by their star Enza Vitro, who scored his 14th goal of the season in the first minute of the game.

Toms River South 3 Toms River East 1 | Boys

The Indians stayed red-hot to close out September by knocking off the crosstown rival Raiders for their seventh-straight win. Karsin Migliori went for a goal and an assist to spark South and help build a 3-0 lead in the first half. Jimmy Aguilar Ochoa netted his first career varsity goal, while Shane Gambarony delivered his team-leading seventh goal for Toms River South (8-1-1). Aiden Reis scored his team-leading ninth goal of the year in the loss for Toms River East (9-2).

Bound Brook 5 Belvidere 1 | Boys

Jahir Coca started the scoring with his team leading seventh goal and five different Crusaders scored to give Bound Brook (8-2) a bounce back win after losing 1-0 to Middlesex.  The Crusaders raced out to a 4-0 halftime lead.  Owen Schliefer had 14 saves for Belvidere who dropped to 3-5 on the season.

Princeton Day 3 Hamilton West 0 | Girls

Sophia Vrisendorp netted two penalty kicks, matching her season total for goals and helping Princeton Day (11-0) remain undefeated in 2025. The Panthers dominated possession for most of the match, which led to Ella McLaren scoring her third goal of her senior season.
