Delsea 7 Absegami 6 | Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic Opening Round

The Crusaders led 7-0 after five innings, but had to hold off a furious Braves comeback attempt to advance. Ethan DuBois earned the win on the mound, throwing four shutout innings. Alex Grippo drove in a pair of runs, while Cole Hudson went 2-4 with a double for Delsea (14-0). Aiden Fazzino had an RBI single for Gami (8-5) in the loss. Delsea advances to face Haddon Heights in the next round of the Diamond Classic.

St. Peter’s Prep 3 Pascack Valley 0

Ray Stein commanded the mound and tossed a complete shutout to fuel the Marauders’ fifth-straight win of the season. St. Peter’s Prep (13-4) now has five shutouts on their resume this spring. Stein only struck out four batters and allowed six hits, but leaned on good defense to get the win. Derek Barber and Tiago Enright each had RBI singles in the win. Pascack Valley (12-4) got a quality start from Sam Stalb but couldn’t break through offensively.

Audubon 13 Egg Harbor Twp. 9 | Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic Opening Round

Down 6-1 after 2, the Green Wave were a tidal wave in the bottom of the third with a monster 11-run inning. Trent Bantle matched his season high with 4 RBIs, while Rutgers commit Tyler Wiltsey finished a perfect 4-4 and reached base on all five of his at-bats. Nick Kologiros was fully trusted on the mound as he pitched a complete game for the Green Wave, striking out five. Audubon (12-3) gets the job done against Egg Harbor Twp. (7-7) and will face Kingsway in the 2nd round of the Diamond Classic.
