Delbarton 7 Don Bosco Prep 2

Finnian O’Loughlin might only be a sophomore, but he played well beyond his years Friday afternoon. He clobbered a pair of solo home runs and struck out three over three innings of relief to secure the win for Delbarton (10-3). Lorenzo Maselli went 3-4 with three RBI – he finished a double shy of the cycle. Ryan Holman tossed four scoreless innings to open the game and set the tone against Don Bosco Prep (8-1) .

Brick Memorial 8 Jackson Memorial 2

Zack Pirnik pitched six and a third innings with six strikeouts and Jimi Popp had two hits and three RBI’s to give Brick Memorial its first outright Shore Conference “A” South division title in school history.  Gavin McCue’s two-run double gave the Mustangs a 2-1 lead in the second.  Brick Memorial (9-4) added two more runs in the third and four more in the fifth.  The Mustangs are the top seed in the upcoming Ocean County Tournament.
