We’ve got a great Shore Conference softball showdown.  Middletown South and Raritan go extra innings in a game that featured great pitching and defense!  Check out all the action


Middletown South 2 Raritan 0 (8 Innings)

Riley Smith pitched a complete game shutout allowing just three hits with no walks and 17 strikeouts and Celia Collings delivered a 2-run RBI single in the top of the 8th to give the Eagles (7-2) an extra innings win over the previously unbeaten Rockets (9-1).  Raritan freshman pitcher Katelyn Ruta was outstanding on the mound with eigth strikeouts.  The Rockets had a chance to win it in the seventh inning.  Janelle Clausi hit a base hit to right center, Middletown South was able to gun down the runner to end the threat and force extra innings.
