The two-time defending Group 3 State Champions Steinert (2-0) are off to a hot start on their quest for a three-peat. The Spartans mercy ruled their CVC rivals Lawrence (1-1) after three 3+ run innings. A day ago, Steinert pitcher Katie Simonka pitched a complete game with 17 K’s. Tonight she pitches another complete game and strikes out 12. The senior has 39 K’s and 0 ER in her first two games of the season. Francesca Castellano led the way on offense once again, going 2/4 and hitting a game-high 3 RBI’s.
