Delbarton 5 St. Joe’s Mont. 4 (OT) | Non-Public State Semifinal

Sean O’Gwen scored :20 into overtime to send the Green Wave to the state finals against CBA at the Prudential Center in a game that featured one of the wildest final minutes of the New Jersey hockey season.  Delbarton had a 3-1 lead midway through the second period before the Green Knights mounted a comeback.  Logan Hughes scored two straight goals in the final 3:33 of the second period to tie the game 3-3.  O’Gwen scored on a snipe from the left circle with 38.7 seconds left to give the Green Wave a 4-3 lead.  St. Joe’s pulls the goalie and tied the game in dramatic fashion with 17.6 seconds left on Hughes third goal of the game to set the stage for overtime drama.  St. Joe’s went from nine wins a year ago to 18-5 in a breakthrough season.  Delbarton (21-1-1) has now won 11 in a row and will seek its first state title since 2018.

CBA 4 Don Bosco Prep 1 | Non-Public State Semifinal

A dominant second period is sending the Colts to their first Non-Public state championship game appearance in three years. Anthony Brereton, Logan Kenny, William Linardakis and Nick Desiderio all cashed in with goals to give CBA (22-6) a lead they wouldn’t give up. Rocco Morenzi made 27 saves to give the Colts their third win of the season over Don Bosco Prep (15-7-1). CBA will face top-seeded Delbarton in the Non-Public state final at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, March 10th at the Prudential Center in Newark.
