Middletown North 9 Cranford 3 | Public South First Round
The Lions rattled off nine unanswered goals to roar past the Cougars and punch their ticket to the sectional quarterfinals. Caden Kirk had a hat trick and Dominiks Marnauza tallied four total points to help fifth-seeded Middletown North (12-10) to the next round. Cranford (6-17), the 12th-seed, climbed out to a 3-0 lead in the first following a pair of goals from Ryan Callahan. The Lions will either travel to Ridge or host Wall in the sectional quarterfinals on Thursday.

Rumson-Fair Haven vs. Old Bridge | Public South First Round
Matthias Doumas made 21 saves including a glove save on a breakaway in the third period to preserve a 2-1 Rumson-Fair Haven win in the opening round of the state playoffs. Matteo Darcy scored just 1:43 into the game to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead before Maksim Gorelik tied the game on his 17th goal of the season. Grayson Goldin gave RFH a 2-1 lead at the end of the second with his goal at the 1:18 mark and Doumas was sensational in the final period. RFH (12-8) will face third seed Hillsborough in the second round. Old Bridge concludes its season ith a 14-9-2 record.
