St. Benedict’s Prep 67 Montclair Immaculate 51 | Essex County Tournament Quarterfinal | Boys

Freshman phenom Michai White exploded for a season-high 34 points as the Gray Bees punched their ticket to the ECT semifinals against a program that’s ruled this tournament for years. White hit three’s, drove the lane and made crazy finish after crazy finish for fourth-seeded St. Benedict’s Prep (12-10) in the win. Va’Shaun Harper led fifth-seeded Montclair Immaculate (10-13) with 15 points in the loss. St. Benedict’s advances to face top-seeded Seton Hall Prep next Saturday.

Egg Harbor Township 49 Overbrook 44 (OT) | Boys

Jalen Bell scored six of his team-high 14 points in overtime as the Eagles rallied to cool off the red-hot Rams. Jake Karp also went for a team-high 14 points in the victory. Zair Green scored a game-high 16 points, while Lamar Little added 14 points for Overbrook (18-3) in the loss. Egg Harbor Township (13-10) trailed by 14 at halftime but flipped the switch in the second half to end Overbrook’s 16-game winning streak.

Trinity Hall 52 Westfield 39 | Girls

Grace Feeney had 19 points and sparked a late second half run to give the Monarchs (17-6) a big out of conference win before the start of the Shore Conference Tournament.  Tied 28-28 in the third quarter, Feeney scored five straight points to give Trinity Hall the lead for good.  Whitey Hobson scored 10 points with Bridget Rigney adding nine for the Monarchs.  Westfield (17-5) is the second seed in the upcoming Union County Tournament.  The Blue Devils were led by Megan Logan’ 16 points and eight rebounds.
