It’s the final day of the high school football season in New Jersey and the last two state champions are crowned to close out the year. Rumson-Fair Haven stands atop Group 2 after two straight heartbreaking state final losses and Winslow Township stakes their claim as NJ’s top public school with a dominant showing to capture a Group 4 title. Rumson-Fair Haven 26 Shabazz 24 | Group 2 State Final
Kellen Murray ran for 178 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries as RFH rallied from 16-6 down in the first quarter to take a 20-16 halftime lead and hang on in the end for the school’s first overall state championship and a perfect 13-0 record. Rumson endured heartbreak in the previous two Group 2 state championship games losing both by narrow margins but got the elusive state title in 2024.

Winslow Township 35 Phillipsburg 0 | Group 4 State Final
The final game of the 2024 high school football season turned into a coronation as the Eagles delivered a dominant performance at SHI stadium to complete a perfect season and win the program’s first state championship. Newly-minted Kentucky commit Cam Miller had four catches for 67 yards and two first half touchdowns in his final game for Winslow Township (14-0). Nyqir Helton finished with two interceptions, with one going for a 67-yard touchdown, as the Eagles defense pitched their fifth shutout of the season. Phillipsburg had an outstanding season end with a record of 11-3.
