Monday marked the final stop on the road to the state finals for the public schools in girls soccer as JSZ brings you three state semifinal matchups from around the Garden State. Check back as the highlights are posted throughout the night!
Madison 2 Ramsey 1 (OT) | Group 2 State Semifinal
Alana Flynn came through with a full dose of “Madison Magic” Monday night in a thrilling upset win over the defending Group 2 state champions. Flynn’s golden goal in the first minute of overtime sends Madison (21-2) to the state final and also ended the Rams’ 30-game unbeaten streak, which extended all the way into last season. Anna Gominiak also scored in the second half for the Dodgers to tie the game. Ramsey (23-1-1) had an incredible year come to a close in the loss – Kendall Reid scored the Rams’ lone goal in the first half. Madison will face Point Boro in the Group 2 state final Saturday night.

Point Pleasant Boro 4 Haddonfield 0 | Group 2 State Semifinal
The Central champion Panthers opened up a two-goal lead less than ten minutes into the first half as they powered their way into their first Group 2 state final in program history. Elise Viggiano netted a pair of goals to lead the way in the victory. Maddie Renna got the party started with her 12th goal of the season for Point Pleasant Boro (19-2-2). Enya Carthy had five saves in net for South champion Haddonfield (11-10-2). Point Boro will look to bring home its first state title on Saturday against Madison at Franklin High School.

Northern Highlands 3 Chatham 1 | Group 3 State Semifinal
Lyla Geller scored a pair of goals in the first 14 minutes and Meghan Buchanan closed out a dominant first half with her 19th of the year to lead the Highlanders to avenge a loss to the Cougars in last year’s state semifinal. Northern Highlands (18-3) is on a nine game win streak after knocking off the defending state champs and will face Shawnee on Saturday in the Group 3 state championship.
