It’s a great day in New Jersey high school hockey! Bergen Catholic’s John Mustard hears his name called in Las Vegas in the 2024 NHL Draft. Watch our JSZ highlights of the latest pro prospect
The Chicago Blackhawks have selected former Bergen Catholic standout John Mustard in the third round of the 2024 NHL Draft. Mustard was the #67 pick on day two of the Draft and was on hand at the Sphere in Las Vegas for the big moment. Mustard played two seasons at Bergen Catholic highlighted by his sophomore season where he had 21 goals and 21 assists being named to JSZ’s 2022 All-Zone hockey team. He then went on to play in Waterloo in the USHL where he was named the league’s rookie of the year in 2023 and built his stock up as a professional prospect. Mustard is set to play Division I college hockey at Providence College and the center will continue to develop his game with the goal of joining the Blackhawks in the coming years.
