Just a few weeks before the start of the NFL preseason 49ers safety and Sayreville alumni Myles Hartsfield returned to the very field where he once played football to host a combine for youth and high school athletes. Hartsfield’s path to the league was anything but typical; originally committed to Penn State, his senior football season would be cut short due to a hazing scandal that made national headlines and also resulted in his offer from the Nittany Lions being revoked. However, following a postgraduate year he earned a scholarship to Ole Miss and would be picked up by the Carolina Panthers after going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. Now a successful gym owner with some NFL experience, Myles Hartsfield enters his first training camp with the San Fransisco 49ers looking to be the latest New Jersey athlete to make some noise at the highest level.
