See highlights and post-game reaction of Shore Regional’s 13-0 win over Rumson-Fair Haven in the first annual “Devil-Dawg Bowl” in Oceanport

OCEANPORT – Doug Goldsmith had a pair of touchdown runs and the Shore Regional defense pitched its 6th shutout of 2014 in the Blue Devils 13-0 win over Rumson-Fair Haven in the first annual “Devil-Dawg Bowl”.  It’s the start of a new tradition after RFH and RBC ended their longtime Thanksgiving rivalry game.  The game was played in a driving rain that eventually turned to snow flurries in the second half.  An errant snap on a punt in the first quarter set up Goldsmith’s first TD run from 2 yards out and the only score of the first half.  RFH would fumble the ball away on a 4th and short in the 4th quarter to set up Goldsmith with a 23 yard TD run and the longest play from scrimmage.

Both schools are playing for sectional titles next week on December 6th at Kean University.  Shore Regional (10-1) takes on South Hunterdon at 10:00 am while RFH (8-3) is the nightcap at Kean taking on Delaware Valley at 7:00 pm.
