Middletown North forward and SSZ Hockey Player of the Year Finalist Bobby Hampton has given a verbal commitment to play Division I hockey in Boston for Northeastern University

Middletown North’s Bobby Hampton has given a verbal commitment to play Division I hockey at Northeastern University.  He made the announcement via his Twitter account:

Hampton helped lead Middletown North to the state championship, the school’s first ever on the ice, with two goals and two assists at the Prudential Center in the Lions 5-4 win over Ramsey.  He spent the first two years of his high school career at Christian Brothers Academy and scored 35 goals and 19 assists in just 16 games for Middletown North after sitting out the beginning of the season due to transfer rules.  His Lions teammate, Khristian Acosta, committed to play Division I hockey at Quinnipiac.  Hampton and Acosta have one more year of high school hockey before going to the college ranks.  Northeastern competes in Hockey East and finished 16-16-4 last season.
