MANALAPAN – For the first time, Shore Sports Zone hands out Monmouth Building Center Game Balls to defensive standouts.  Manalapan linebacker Joe Mendez and defensive end Kyle Mullen won Top Play honors for Week Five.  Mullen sacked Lacey quarterback Conor Davies allowing Mullen to scoop up an eight yard touchdown in the Braves 42-14 win.

Manalapan (5-0) is set for its toughest test to date when the Middletown South Eagles (4-1) come to the Braves this Friday night at 7:00 pm.  The Eagles lone loss has come out of conference to South Brunswick.  Manalapan brings one of the most explosive offenses in New Jersey, averaging over 50 points a game, while Middletown South is outscoring opponents by an average of 41-7.  Both teams feature outstanding offensive line units and the beneficiaries have been Braves running back Imamu Mayfield (798 yards and 18 TD’s) and Eagles running back Cole Rogers (743 yards and 17 TD’s).  Shore Sports Zone will have complete highlights and post-game reaction this Friday night.
